At Hellgate National Park, you'll explore the rugged terrain, featuring volcanic craters, and rich birdlife, while learning about the park’s geological history and diverse ecosystems. Continue to Crescent Island, a peaceful wildlife sanctuary on Lake Naivasha, where you can enjoy a walking safari among giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests, all set against a beautiful lakeside backdrop. The trip offers a perfect balance of natural beauty, wildlife encounters, and scenic views.
Day 1: Hell's Gate National Park & Olkaria Geothermal Spa

Your day begins with an early morning taxi pickup at 6:00 am from Nairobi, for a scenic 2-hour drive to Hell's Gate National Park. Upon arrival, you'll collect manual bicycles and embark on an 8 km cycling journey (one way) along the park’s scenic path, leading up to the gorge office. Along the route, enjoy sighting of various animals including giraffes, buffalos, gazelles, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, and hartebeests among others. At the gorge, you will begin a guided hike through the dramatic gorge, which culminates in the famous Pride Rock viewpoint, known from The Lion King.
After exploring the gorge, you will head to the Olkaria Geothermal Spa for a relaxing swim. This is the largest geothermal pool in East and Central Africa, with naturally warm water heated by geothermal activity, reaching temperatures of over 60°C at the deep end. You can also enjoy lunch at the on-site restaurant (lunch not included in the rates).
In the evening, you will be transferred to Eseriani Resort (or a similar accommodation) for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha & Crescent Island Safari Walk

After breakfast, a taxi will pick you up from your accommodation for the short trip to Lake Naivasha, where you’ll enjoy a serene boat ride. The ride offers excellent opportunities to observe hippos and a variety of bird species while learning about the lake’s history, its fluctuating water levels, and its rich ecosystem.
Following the boat ride, you will disembark at Crescent Island for a 2-3 hour guided safari walk. The island is a haven for wildlife, where you'll have the chance to spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, ostriches, and warthogs. Bird watchers will be delighted to discover that over 350 species of birds—both migratory and native—call the island home.
Afterward, you’ll be transferred to Sanctuary Farm or a nearby restaurant for a lunch surrounded by wildlife (lunch not included in the rates). You will then embark on a journey back to your respective accommodations in Nairobi as the tour comes to an end.
