Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is one of Africa's most iconic wildlife destinations. Spanning about 14,750 square kilometers, it is renowned for its vast plains, diverse ecosystems, and rich biodiversity. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is perhaps most famous for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles. This spectacular migration, which follows seasonal rains, is often referred to as one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of Africa."

The Serengeti is also home to the "Big Five" (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros), and large populations of predators, including cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals. Its diverse habitats range from open savannahs and grasslands to woodlands, rivers, and swamps, offering a home to more than 500 bird species and numerous reptiles.

Tourists visiting the park can enjoy game drives, hot air balloon safaris, and guided walks, making it a prime destination for nature lovers and wildlife photographers. The Serengeti is part of a larger ecosystem that connects with Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve, creating one of the most important wildlife corridors in Africa. Its protection and conservation efforts have made it an essential part of Tanzania's natural heritage and a global symbol of wildlife conservation.
